1. What is the root cause of the learning problem?
Ishaan Awasthi was suffering from a neurological disorder termed as “dyslexia” which hinders him to learn in a spontaneous manner. He had a hard time remembering and understanding the differences and the relationship of each letter thus precluding him from learning how to neither read nor write. He also was not able to understand a little complex instruction that’s why he failed to go after the orders of his parents and teachers. Physically, his fine as well as gross motor skills were not well refined thus he was not able to neither catch a ball nor tie his shoes. Ishaan’s disorder is the main reason why he failed to learn along with his classmates.
2. Is Sir Ram a high-tech-high-touch teacher? Support your answer.
Mr. Ram is indeed a high-tech-high-touch teacher. He is high-tech not because he made use of different products of modern technology in teaching but rather because he utilized variety of processes or methodologies that will suit the level and the interests of his students, most especially, Ishaan. Knowing that Ishaan had a learning disorder, Mr. Ram developed teaching strategies that will maximize the child’s inclination to art. Through art, he was able to teach Ishaan in all other fields such as English and Math. He is also a high-touch teacher because he built a bridge between him and his students, particularly to Ishaan who needed him most. He played a very vital role in the transformation of Ishaan as well as the rest of the people around them. He developed a special relationship between him and Ishaan so that the child will gain confidence since he’s engaged with someone who won’t surely let him down.
